HQ Productions

As a company we create ground-breaking, original work centred on the intersection between mental health and LGBTQIA+ identity.

We were recently awarded Arts Council England funding to develop Here, Queer & Mentally Unclear: The Workshop, which educates on trans and non-binary health issues in particular.

I have worked with this company for six months, at first as Associate Artist, now as part of a team of four.

In November, the company produced Queer Week 2019 at The Drayton Arms Theatre. This was an arts festival showcasing London's best LGBTQIA performers, during which we staged Here, Queer & Mentally Unclear, a semi-verbatim musical.

We were progammed as part of this festival of work curated by Pink Freud Theatre.

I acted as Associate Director and Technician on the show But, But, But by Pink Freud Theatre. This piece explored the simultaneous fetishisation and dismissal of queer female and non-binary sexuality, using cabaret, lip-sync and drag formats.

As part of HQ Productions, we performed both the musical Here, Queer and Mentally Unclear and staged the debut of our newly developed Workshop on March 15th.

We conducted extensive audience feedback via forms in order to report back to ACE on the process.
